Can you tell me about how your RareJob Journey began?
Anne
Evaluation Supervisor
My story in RareJob started in 2012. Back then, I was shifting careers from being a professional nurse to becoming a Special Education teacher. I enrolled for a Master’s degree in Education, and the initial plan was to look for a part-time job to finance my education.
At the time, I juggled two part-time jobs: a teacher-assistant for a therapy center, and an office-based trainer in RareJob.

Working two part-time jobs must have been a challenge in itself. How was the experience working part-time in RareJob?
Anne
Evaluation Supervisor
The work itself was not stressful, but adjusting to the needs of tutor applicants with different personalities made it a bit taxing. However, having this kind of experience trained me to be more open, patient, and understanding.

That’s very interesting. When did you become a full-time employee, and how was it like?
Anne
Evaluation Supervisor
After a year of being a part-time employee, I finally joined RareJob full-time. At that point, I was responsible for training and onboarding new evaluators. Aside from that, I learned about monitoring the team’s operations, identifying bottlenecks, and planning initiatives. Also, it showed me a glimpse of how to manage people.
The Finer Details
I once read a saying that when you choose a job that you love, you’ll never have to work a day in your life. Somehow, RareJob made me believe in that.

Fast-forward to today, you are now the Supervisor here in the company. How was it like transitioning into a leadership role?
Anne
Evaluation Supervisor
After being promoted to supervisor, I realized that being a leader is not all about giving orders nor assigning tasks. It is being responsible to my team and always putting the members’ success before mine.

Can you share to me one of the most memorable projects you’ve been part of?
Anne
Evaluation Supervisor
One of the most memorable projects I handled was when we were starting Envizion Philippines, Inc., a company under the RareJob Group, in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines, back in 2016.
We flew to Mindanao and stayed there for two weeks. Since we stayed in a small office, it certainly felt that we were opening a new business. I got to experience this with members from other departments like Human Resources and Admin. It taught me to be flexible and resourceful.

As someone who has been with RareJob for quite some time now, how is it like working with this company?
Anne
Evaluation Supervisor
Seven years and still counting, that is how long I have been with RareJob Philippines, Inc.
Working for this company has always been fulfilling. Its unique environment, which is open and youthful, is something that I value. Though it is difficult at times because of meeting targets, creating programs for applicants and new tutors, and revising processes, the people I work with make it all worthwhile.
I once read a saying that when you choose a job that you love, you’ll never have to work a day in your life. RareJob made me believe in that.

Anne
Evaluation Supervisor
Throughout this path, there were ups and downs. Nonetheless, these experiences have molded me into the person that I am now. Though there are still areas that I need to work on, I am happy that I get to improve and learn new things every day.

What do you think are the highlights of your career?
Anne
Evaluation Supervisor
I think it would be when I was awarded the Professional Development Excellence Award, an award commending supervisors, in 2017 and 2019. Honestly, being a finalist is already an achievement, and winning the award is icing on the cake. I got my icing–twice!
These recognitions made me want to do more for this company, to be better in what I do, to push myself to my limits, and to be of service to my colleagues. It also taught me that learning is an unending process that I need to live by day by day.
