The Human Side of Data: My Journey with RareJob Philippines
Behind The ScenesThis month of June, we celebrate our Independence Day not only by remembering our heroes, but also by embodying the values they lived by.
We Filipinos have many core values we carry on in our daily lives, many of them revolving around our shared identity and treatment of others – kapwa. We place much importance in unity, cooperation, and maintaining our relationships with others, so much so that we bring them everywhere we go, even our place of work.
This month, we invited Tutor Success Data Analyst Adriane Kilat to be this month’s Behind The Scene’s blogger! As someone who works with the tutor community, fellow RJPH employees, as well as understanding data analytics related to their social media platforms, A is at the center of multiple groups, and has had his fair share of collaborations. Let’s learn more about him, and how he embodies bayanihan in a role that promotes synergy.

Can you share with us what a typical day is like for a Tutor Success Data Analyst?

Adriane Kilat
Tutor Success Data Analyst
My role is a great balance of daily tracking and deep-dive strategy. On a day-to-day basis, my tasks revolve around monitoring and updating our dashboards to keep our data fresh, alongside handling weekly reporting for various internal teams.
Beyond these routines, I focus on proactive analysis—delving into historical and recurring data to isolate trends in tutor behavior. I then translate those insights into strategic recommendations, focusing on actionable ways we can improve the tutor experience and drive long-term retention.

Through this role, I get to work with a variety of people within the company, ranging from data colleagues to management and cross-functional teams. It has allowed me to bring a data-driven perspective to our meetings, helping different teams align on strategy.

Enrichment through Collaboration

One of your responsibilities is related to handling data related to tutor activities and the tutor community itself. From your experience, why is maintaining a tutor community important, and how has it helped in keeping RJ tutors happy?

Adriane Kilat
Tutor Success Data Analyst
Because our tutors are spread across different regions of the Philippines and work remotely, they don’t have a traditional physical office to interact in daily. Maintaining an online tutor community is crucial because it bridges that geographic gap and fulfills a fundamental human need for connection. When tutors can interact, share experiences, and support one another online, it significantly reduces the isolation of remote work. A strong sense of belonging directly translates to higher morale and happiness, which ultimately inspires them to stay with RareJob long-term.

You also work with many different teams and individuals within RareJob PH. How has collaborating with your colleagues enriched you as a professional?

Adriane Kilat
Tutor Success Data Analyst
Collaboration has been a major driver of my professional growth. The culture at RareJob is incredibly supportive, and I treat every meeting and cross-functional encounter as a valuable learning experience. At the same time, I believe professional enrichment is a two-way street. I love sharing my technical knowledge to help others grow. For instance, I’ve been mentoring a teammate who was eager to learn advanced Google Sheets functions. Guiding her through that learning curve has been incredibly rewarding and has made our teamwork even more meaningful.

What do you think is the most rewarding part of your job?

Adriane Kilat
Tutor Success Data Analyst
What I find most rewarding is the trust placed in my work and the ability to make my teammates’ lives easier. It’s a great feeling knowing that people rely on my reports to be accurate and on time. On top of that, I really enjoy creating automations that help our workflow run more smoothly. When I can build something that saves my team time and effort, it gives me a deep sense of accomplishment knowing I’ve contributed positively to both my peers and the company.

Puhon – The concept I abide by the most in my personal life is ‘Puhon.’ It is a beautiful word that truly captures our unique Filipino optimism and deep faith in divine timing. To me, ‘Puhon’ means believing that everything happens for a reason, and no matter what hardships or trials I face today, a brighter tomorrow is always waiting. It’s a mindset that keeps me resilient, patient, and hopeful every single day.
