When did you start working in RareJob Philippines, Inc.?

I started working in RareJob Ph Inc. towards the end of 2022.

What made you choose RareJob as your company?

Back then, I was looking for a position that was in line with my previous work experience when I saw the opening on an online job platform. I then searched for RareJob PH’s company’s background and saw that it had a fun and young company culture, which made me eager to apply.

As a Talent Training and Performance Associate, how has the experience been so far?

As a Talent Training and Performance Associate in RareJob PH, I have experienced many opportunities to learn, hone my skillsets, and expand my horizons.

Share with us what a typical day is like in the Talent Training and Performance Team.

A typical day in the Talent Training and Performance Team involves facilitating various training sessions, including Welcome Orientations, New Employee Orientations, and Supervisor Trainings. I also manage external training requests and assist in the performance assessment process. Each day focuses on developing skills and nurturing talent within the organization to foster growth and improve performance

The HR Division and Legal Office recently had a Team Building. How was the experience?

When the teambuilding activity (Do it yourself baking) was first announced to us, initially I was flustered since the last time I baked a cake was 3 years ago. But on the day of the teambuilding activity, I enjoyed following the recipe as it was a cake that I had no prior experience in baking, so it also gave me an exciting and exhilarating experience throughout the session. I also enjoyed interacting with my colleagues that I previously did not have many opportunities to intermingle with in person. It gave us a platform to communicate and cooperate with each other that would not normally happen on a day-to-day basis. I felt that it highly bolstered our camaraderie and overall, I know that it was a fun and challenging experience.

How did the members communicate and collaborate during the team building activity?

During our DIY baking team-building activity, communication and collaboration were the key. My partner and I divided tasks based on our strengths, maintained open lines of communication for seamless execution, and supported each other throughout the process. Despite initial challenges, such as having no prior experience with the recipe, we quickly learned to adapt and integrate each other’s ideas, which not only improved our final product but also enhanced our working relationship. This experience revealed the importance of effective communication and adaptability in teamwork, leading to surprising breakthroughs in both our baking skills and professional collaboration.

Which part of the team building activity did you find most enjoyable? How did it contribute to the group’s camaraderie?

The most enjoyable part of the team-building activity for me was definitely the conclusion of the baking process, when we displayed our cakes and participated in a short awarding ceremony for the best cake. This moment was particularly rewarding as it allowed everyone to showcase their hard work and creativity.

Seeing the variety of outcomes and celebrating each other’s efforts greatly contributed to a sense of accomplishment and pride across the group. The friendly competition added a lighthearted and funny element, fostering laughter and positive interactions that strengthened our camaraderie and left us all with shared happy memories, reinforcing our bonds as a team.

What do you think of this team building activity in general? Why do you think are these activities important?

I found the DIY baking team-building activity to be an excellent choice for fostering collaboration and creativity among team members. Engaging in a hands-on task outside of our usual work context allowed us to interact in new ways, revealing hidden skills and building trust.

Yes, I would definitely recommend this type of DIY baking activity to other teams. What other team building activities are you looking forward to in the future?

I am particularly looking forward to engaging in breakout or escape room activities as future team building exercises. These activities provide a dynamic environment that challenges teams to solve puzzles and uncover clues under time pressure, which not only sharpens problem-solving skills but also enhances communication and collaboration among team members. Escape rooms require a combination of diverse thinking styles and active participation from everyone involved, making it an excellent tool for promoting critical thinking and teamwork. Additionally, the thrill of racing against the clock adds an element of excitement and can lead to a memorable, bonding experience for the entire team.
